The RF government to create a state-owned company endowed with the exclusive right to export roundwood

That was announced by Yury Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister, in this interview with Izvestia Newspaper.

“We are currently considering the possibility of founding a state-owned company endowed with the exclusive right to export roundwood, i.e. we will leave one single “export gate”, make this company state-owned, but oblige it to reinvest its profits in the construction of processing plants within our country, and we will also continue to work with investors, apparently with western ones already, since it’s not working out with eastern ones,” the Deputy Prime Minister commented on the ban on the export of unprocessed timber to become effective from January 1, 2022.
