Russian Timber Journal 09-2023: Oleg Fokin, Director for Timber Export at Technonicol: “Now is a good time to invest in the woodworking industry”; Demand for furniture boards exceeded the supply in October; Global pulp prices have fallen steadily since late 2022 — the most significant decline has been for hardwood pulp, traded at a substantial discount to softwood pulp; The Government of the Russian Federation extended by 2 years the period when exporting certain types of timber products by trucks via border crossing points located on the Russian–Chinese and Russian–Mongolian sections of the state border is allowed; Segezha Group announces its unaudited consolidated financial results and operating results for Q3 2023 — revenue was up 13% QoQ to RUB 23.9 billion; The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation suggests abolishing the 7% export duty on pulp and paper products; In January—September 2023, the Russian furniture output surged by 27.3% YoY, reaching 46.7 million pieces; In January–September 2023, countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) increased the roundwood import from Russia by almost 15% YoY, up to 195,000 m³.
