Russian Timber Journal 01-2025: Denis Kumirov, Deputy Director General for Raw Material Provision at JSC Volga: “If our contractors were thinking about further development before, these Key Rate and leasing rate make it virtually impossible to buy anything”; Sawn timber production in the global market is reducing for the third year in a row — WhatWood analysis article; Opora Rossii (“Pillar of Russia”) All-Russian Organization of Small and Medium Business suggested to the Government of the Russian Federation that the introduction of the federal state information system of the timber industry (FGIS LK) be postponed by three months; Sveza announced the purchase of assets from MMPOF—a group in the Northwestern Federal District that produces cardboard packaging and special-purpose paper; Kappa Rus closed the deal on purchasing Okulovka Paper Mill; Starting from 2025, VLP Group will spend more than 2 billion rubles on subsequent upgrading of the LDK No. 3 sawmill in Malaya Vishera, Novgorod Region; According to Rosstat, the volume of Russian plywood production in 2024 increased by 5.1% YoY to 3.425 million m³; SFT Group will invest 20 billion rubles in launching a new cardboard machine, the project is being implemented at the premises of Kartontara, an operating enterprise in Adygea; JSC Volga commissioned the upgraded Paper-Making Machine 6 with the capacity of 140,000 t of product per year.
