German pellet prices continued to fall in May 2021

As is customary for the season, the price for wood pellets fell again across Germany in May 2021. A ton currently costs an average of € 217.04 (purchase: 6 t), as reported by the German Pellet Institute (DEPI). That is 4.3% less than in April 2021 and 5.7% less than last year. The kilo price is 21.70 cents, the kilowatt hour (kWh) of heat from pellets is available for 4.34 cents.

The following regional differences arise in the price of wood pellets in May 2021 (purchase quantity: 6 t): In southern Germany, pellets are again the cheapest at € 213.68 / t, followed by the Central Region at € 218.44 / t. In northern and eastern Germany, the price per ton for pressed pellets was € 228.03 in May. Larger quantities (26 t) will be traded in May 2021 under the following conditions: South: € 202.82 / t, center: € 204.55 / t, north / east: € 216.21 / t (all including VAT).
