Germany: Pellet prices stable despite low temperatures

Even with the double-digit freezing temperatures in parts of Germany in February, wood pellets remain at a stable price. In the northeast region it is highest due to the weather. As the German Pellet Institute (DEPI) reports, a ton of pellets costs an average of € 236.45 in February (purchase of 6 t). and thus 0.7% less than in January and 9.6% less than in the same month last year.

Regarding the price of wood pellets, the following regional differences arise in February 2021 (purchase quantity 6 t):

In southern Germany, pellets are again the cheapest at € 233.61 / t. In central Germany the pellets cost 235.78 € / t, in the coldest region north / east in February 242.17 € / t.

Larger quantities (26 t) will be traded in February 2021 under the following conditions: South – € 220.44 / t, center – € 219.30 / t, north / east – € 223.92 / t (all including VAT).
