The second forum of timber industry complex “LPK 360°” will be held in Moscow

As the press-centre of “Timber industry complex of Russia”, 14 December 2018 on the site of the MIA “Russia Today” (Zubovsky b-R, D. 4) will host the second forum “The timber industry 360°”.

The forum will be attended by representatives of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of industry and trade, the Ministry of energy, the Ministry of construction, regional authorities, large woodworking companies and industry associations.

This year the main theme of the forum is”Export potential of the industry”. The forum program is divided into two blocks: first, there will be a panel discussion “From the idea to the pulp and paper mill: the growth engine of the Russian LPK”, and then the participants will continue the discussion of the future development of the Russian LPK at the round table “New trade routes: Europe and Asia”.

As noted by the state Secretary-Deputy Minister of industry and trade of the Russian Federation Viktor Evtukhov, ” 2018 was the year of making important decisions in the field of development of the timber processing complex of Russia. In September, ’Strategy 2030’ was approved, the implementation of which will increase the contribution of the forest sector to the country’s economy, to ensure the growth of Russia’s share in the world market of forest products, to increase the value added per unit of harvested wood. Today, the volume of deliveries of LPK products to external consumers already exceeds 11 billion dollars. Exports are expected to grow to $ 17 billion by 2024.”

The forum “LPK360°” is held for the second time with the support of the Ministry of industry and trade of the Russian Federation. In 2017, the event was attended by speakers from Belarus, the UK, Germany, China and the Czech Republic. The total number of participants reached 600 people. The work of the first forum was divided into thematic sections: “Cellulose”, “Furniture”, “Wooden house building”, “Communications” and “Innovation”.

The program of promotion of the Russian timber industry is aimed at the implementation of a set of measures aimed at increasing the investment attractiveness of the Russian timber industry, promotion of deep processing products in the domestic and international markets.
