“The strategy of development of the forest complex until 2030” is supported at the legislative level

At the meeting of the expert Advisory Council on the forest complex under the profile Committee of the Federation Council discussed the development of legislative support measures and proposals and additions to the action plan for the implementation of the “strategy for the development of the forest complex of the Russian Federation until 2030”, approved by order of the Government of the Russian Federation. The meeting was attended by members of the Federation Council, representatives of ministries and departments, experts.

The Member of the Federation Council Committee on agrarian and food policy and environmental management Tatyana Gigel at the meeting of the Expert Advisory Council on the forest complex under the SF Committee on agrarian and food policy and environmental management recalled that For two years the strategy for the development of the forest complex of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030 is the main theme on which the members of the Expert Council have been working continuously.

According to the Senator, senators and experts have made great efforts to take into account their opinion, the opinion of the regions (60 subjects of the Russian Federation were interviewed). “The Ministry of industry and trade of Russia, the developers of the Strategy, we have submitted recommendations on the composition and content of the document, approved by the decision of the Committee on agricultural and food policy and environmental management”,-added Ms. Gigel. – “Unfortunately, our recommendations are taken into account in part, but thanks to our proposals, the Strategy was supplemented by such basic sections as “Forestry”, “Scientific and personnel support”, “forest Reproduction”, “Logging and woodworking industry”, and in the section “Characteristics of the forest complex” we used the materials of the analysis of the industry, which we sent to the Ministry”.

Tatiana Gigel noted that in recent years the issues of the forest complex and wooden housing construction have received some progress: “I am Sure that in the future this process will continue and even accelerate.” The Senator informed that the action plan of the autumn session of the Federation Council included proposals on behalf of the Expert Council to hold a “round table” on “Scientific and personnel support of the timber industry. Problems and ways to solve them”, “round table” on “Improvement of transport support of forest enterprises on the principles of public-private partnership. Problems of legislative support for the development of forest infrastructure”, as well as” round table “on the theme”on the promotion of wooden housing in the light of the implementation of the RF Government Decree of March 15, 2018 № 259”.

Tatiana Gigel also noted that the issues of wooden housing construction in the last two or three years occupy an important place in the activities of the Government of the Russian Federation, Federal and regional Executive authorities in the field. “In many ways, this was facilitated by the increased attention to solving the problems of wooden housing construction on the part of the Federation Council, the profile Committee of the SF, the Expert Council on the forest complex, Federal sectoral professional and public associations,” the parliamentarian said.
