Russian Timber Journal 10-2023: Andrey Krivoshein, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Komi: “Conversion from fuel oil and coal to biofuel will have a huge synergy effect”; Russia’s wood pellet industry: from a rapid growth to challenging times; US new-home construction unexpectedly surged in November to a six-month high; The WhatWood agency was regularly receiving reports about the growing pricing activity in the roundwood market throughout November; RIA-Invest-Group plans to build a plant for the production of laminated particleboard with a capacity of 500,000 m³ per year, investments estimated at 8 billion rubles; Russian plywood output grew by 7.3% in October 2023 compared to the previous month; By the next heating season, the Komi expects to have 35 operating boiler houses running on wood pellets that will consume 46,000 t of wood pellets per year.
