Russian roundwood price growth accelerated in November
The WhatWood agency was regularly receiving reports about the growing pricing activity in the roundwood market throughout November. Traders from the Volga and Central Federal Districts do not think this price change is an upward trend.
This is most probably a regular seasonal hike. Winter harvesting is only beginning to pick up momentum, and the roundwood supply is limited across all size groups.
For instance, the surveyed harvesting enterprises and traders in the birch veneer logs market reported a consistent demand and a continuing price growth.
According to a survey by WhatWood, in November, a major plywood producer from the Volga Federal District offered its suppliers to add an extra 300 rubles/m³ to the October price, driving it to 4,600 rubles/m³ (VAT exclusive, departure station).
