New wood chip-fired boiler house to be built in Karelia

The State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Karelia, KarelKommunEnergo, has begun reconstruction of a boiler house in the town of Suoyarvi. The announcement was made by Alexander Fedorichev, Minister of Construction, Housing and Communal Services, and Energy of Karelia.

Following the demolition of the old building, construction will begin on a new 26 MW boiler house that will run on wood chips and is expected to supply heat to two-thirds of the town.

The project is being implemented as part of the Federal Targeted Program for the Development of the Republic of Karelia.
