Finscan is an automatic sawn timber sorting system using Buzzard – an artificial intelligence-based application. Besides identifying wood defects, the system is capable of identifying knots and rot with high precision, improving the quality and output of produced sawn timber.

This order is a part of the agreement between ULK Group and Jartek; the Finnish producer is going to supply four green sawn timber sorting lines and three dried sawn timber sorting lines under this agreement.

Pinezhsky LPK start-up is scheduled for 2023. The company is planning to produce 1 million m³ of sawn timber and 600,000 t of wood pellets annually.
