In Karelia for the implementation of five priority projects in the field of forest development invested 11 billion rubles

Currently, 5 priority projects in the field of forest development are being implemented in Karelia. This projects “Kostomuksha construction company”, LLC DOK Kalevala, NPO “Fintek”, LLC “Setles“, LLC “Russian Lesnoy Alliance”. Thanks to the successful implementation of projects, 700 jobs have been created in the Republic. And the implementation of the Segezha PPM investment project, which claims to be a priority in the field of forest development, has already made it possible to create an additional 141 jobs.

It is planned to modernize and create objects of forest processing infrastructure, including the processing of wood waste, reducing energy consumption, increasing the volume of production of import-substituting products, creating high-performance jobs.

The basis for inclusion of the project in the list of investment projects is the decision of the Ministry of industry and trade of Russia, adopted on the basis of the decision of the interested body on approval of the investor’s application for the implementation of the investment project. In Karelia, the Republican Ministry of natural resources and environment acts as an interested body in relation to investment projects.

Today, the stage of project implementation is high and amounts to 92%. The volume of investments in these projects amounted to 11 billion rubles. 700 jobs were Created.

In June 2018, the Solomenskiy sawmill successfully completed the implementation of the priority project.

In November 2018, the Ministry of natural resources and environment of the Republic of Karelia received and considered the application of Segezha PPM to include the investment project of modernization of the plant in the list of priorities in the field of forest development.

The volume of investments in the project will be more than 14 million rubles, during its implementation 141 new jobs have already been created.

More than 1 million cubic meters have been reserved for the implementation of these projects, 714,0 thousand cubic meters have been provided under lease agreements.

At the end of 11 months of 2018, the volume of timber harvesting amounted to 253.7 thousand cubic meters or 35.5% of the leased forest Fund.

This suggests that in Karelia there is a good potential for further development of the estimated cutting area.

The Ministry of natural resources of Karelia continues to attract investments in the timber industry of the Republic, as well as supervises the implementation of investment projects in the field of forest development.
