From March 1, 2026, review period for forest development projects to be reduced

18 August 2025 ` 16:50

Starting March 1, 2026, the review period for state examination of forest development projects (FDPs) will be cut almost in half — from 15 to 8 business days, the Federal Forestry Agency (Rosleskhoz) press service reports. If an FDP is submitted for timber harvesting purposes, the document will be reviewed within 11 business days.

“Reducing the review period for industry documents is an important step in optimizing the work of the forestry sector and regional forestry authorities. This will make it possible to promptly correct identified errors in FDPs, make adjustments, and begin operations on forest areas more quickly,” said Elena Borodavkina, Head of the Legal Regulation and Forest Use Department of Rosleskhoz.
