Almost every fifth Russian saves money for furniture after buying real estate
According to a study by Yandex.Realty, buying an apartment forces 32% of respondents to start saving money primarily for renovation, 29% begin to think about traveling, and 18% of the surveyed start saving for furniture.
For this reason, buying a furnished apartment is becoming increasingly popular, the Association of Furniture and Woodworking Enterprises of Russia believes.
New furnished homes were first made available in 2019. At that time, developers were reluctant to include this new option and offered furnishing only for economy class homes, but now the circumstances have changed, and this trend is developing in the premium segment too, noted Alexander Shestakov, Director General at Pervaya Mebelnaya Fabrika and President at the Association of Furniture and Woodworking Enterprises of Russia.
