VEB.RF declared a strategic partner for the construction of a new pulp and paper mill in Krasnoyarsk region
VEB.RF and the investment company Rockwell Capital signed a Memorandum of intent to establish a holding company as part of the implementation of a joint strategy in the timber processing complex of Russia. As the first project, the parties intend to organize the construction of a new wood-chemical plant in the Krasnoyarsk territory.
Construction of the new production will be carried out at the site of JSC “Kraslesinvest”, part of the VEB Group. The volume of investments in the creation of the whole complex is estimated at 140 billion rubles. The capacity of the enterprise will be about 900 thousand tons of cellulose per year. Rockwell Capital intends to act as a managing partner, which will ensure the consolidation of existing assets, as well as the construction of new high-tech industries, and, accordingly, will take over the operational asset management.
The parties also agreed to jointly implement a number of projects to create new production facilities with the development of logging and timber processing assets in the Siberian and far Eastern Federal districts in order to create a national center and forest industry enterprises on their basis.
In turn, VEB.RF is ready to act as the main financial investor, providing attraction in projects of return debt financing with use of measures of state support.
