Glavgosexpertiza approved of the pulp and paper mill project in the Krasnoyarsk region

5 September 2022 ` 19:19

Glavgosexpertiza of Russia (General Board of State Expert Review) issued a positive opinion on the design documentation and the results of the site investigation for the construction of a pulp and paper mill in Boguchansky district of the Krasnoyarsk region. The project is being jointly implemented by Rockwell Capital and VEB.RF at the site of Kraslesinvest.

In July 2022, after European suppliers had refused to deliver the necessary equipment, Kraslesinvest began redesigning the project together with CAMCE, a Chinese corporation. For this reason, the annual capacity of the pulp and paper plant being designed will reduce from 1 million tons to 800,000–900,000 tons of wood pulp. The project implementation deadline will also be rescheduled to an unspecified time. The commissioning of the plant was previously scheduled for 2026.
