US lumber prices continue to plummet

According to Madison’s Lumber Reporter, in the week ending july 16, 2021 the wholesaler price of benchmark softwood timber commodity item Western S-P-F KD 2×4 #2&Btr was $555 ($359/m³), reaching the minimum value since the beginning of the year. Compared to the previous week, lumber fell by $205 or 27%. Compared to the previous month, the decrease was 42.6% (-$514).
