Titan Group: WTO possibly to close a number of sawmills

WTO accession will possibly lead to closures of low-efficiency and old mills that don’t have possibilities to cut internal costs, as said by Dmitriy Krylov, Deputy CEO, Foreign Relations of Lesozavod-25 mill (belongs to Titan Group).

‘’Acute competition in raw wood procurement is possible, especially in Karelia and Siberia due to falling export duties on roundwood. In the situation of growing raw wood prices without rising product prices some old inefficient mills will possibly close, as they do not have possibilities to cut internal costs’’, Krylov supposes.
