WTO possibly to stop a line at Kondopoga

Newsprint maker Kondopoga mill (Republic of Karelia) will have to stop one of its paper-making machines after new rates will become active due to Russia’s accession to WTO, as head of Federal Forest Agency (Rosleskhoz) Viktor Maslyakov supposed at the agency meeting.

Kondopoga mill makes newsprint and board. Company’s share on the Russian newsprint market is estimated at 39%. In the first half-year, net loss of Kondopoga reached 400 million roubles (€10.1 million), compared to a slight benefit a year ago. Corporate sales also fell by 4.1% to 6.67 billion roubles.
