The Ministry of natural resources of Russia has developed a mechanism for priority obtaining of forest resources by Russian enterprises

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry on March 12, 2019. A special feature of the new procedure for the provision of forest plots is that wood processing enterprises are no longer traded at auction for the right to conclude a lease agreement for the forest area, but receive a resource based on the results of the competition, where the degree of wood processing is important.

“Priority in obtaining forest resources is given to enterprises that have their own wood processing facilities. This uses open information about forests and applies the declarative principle. – said the Director of the Department of state policy and regulation in the field of forest resources and hunting of the Ministry of natural resources of Russia Andrei Gribennikov.

We will remind as earlier the head of the Ministry of natural resources of Russia Dmitry Kobylkin noted, today in many regions of the country there was a situation when tenants of the forest sites which do not have timber processing capacities simply resell at inflated prices wood to processors. According to the Minister, the priority for raw materials should be enterprises that have their own production, engaged in harvesting and processing of wood, and its reproduction.
