The Ministry of Industry and Trade proposes to develop the mechanism of preferential mortgages for wooden housing construction

Vera Khmyrova, Head of the Department of Light Industry and Forestry Complex of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said on Tuesday that it is necessary to develop a mechanism of preferential loans for the construction of wooden housing in Russia.

She added that to launch this mechanism, support should be provided to the Russian regions that have the opportunity to reduce the total cost of building a house by reducing the cost of providing a site as well as by stimulating the development of the utility and transport infrastructure.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade also proposes to amend the rules for providing Russian regions with subsidies of at least 20% for the use of wooden construction technologies when building housing and social and cultural facilities.
