Swiss Krono Group signed an agreement on OSB mill construction in Perm region

Perm region governor Viktor Basargin announced signing of agreement with Swiss Krono Group on the construction of a woodworking mill, as Kommersant-Perm paper reported.

The rated production capacity was increased from initially planned 500 to 600 thousand tonnes of OSB per year. The company will supply its products not only on the Russian market, but also to Japan.

Documentation for construction is already available, it is now being coordinated with the Russian standards. Until July 2014, the company intends to lay the groundwork; a year after it is planned to launch the mill.

Swiss Krono Group owns one mill in Russia, Kronostar in Kostroma region which produced 537,200 m3 of particleboard last year. According to the data available in the Annual Report of WhatWood analysts, this mill is fourth largest particleboard producer in Russia after Kronospan mill in Egoryevsk near Moscow, Gagarin plywood mill in Smolensk region and Pfleiderer mill in Novgorod region.
