Sudoma Sawmill starts production of RUF wood briquettes
Sudoma Sawmill (Pskov region, Russia) starts production of RUF wood briquettes. The factory’s annual production capacity for this product is ready to reach 6,100 tons.
The manufacturing was established within a priority investment project which had required about 40 million rubles. To install the RUF equipment, Sudoma Sawmill has expanded its production area. RUF is a global briquetting machine manufacturer.
Wood briquettes are an environmentally friendly type of fuel which is becoming popular with country house owners. The briquettes are small bars made of sawmill wastes — dry wood chips, grinding dust, sawdust, etc. — crushed and compressed under high pressure. RUF briquettes have a high calorific value (4400-4500 kcal/kg), burn smoothly and burn out almost completely (ash content not more than 1 % of weight). Products create very little smoke pollution.
For fuel briquettes, Sudoma Sawmill uses its own lumber production waste.
“The Dedovichi timber industry complex was designed as a waste-free closed-loop enterprises complex. Having started manufacturing of RUF fuel briquettes, we took another step to implement this project and increase the efficiency of our forest management and also expanded our product range, which is by the way traditionally in great demand abroad,” commercial director of Sudoma Sawmill Oleg Fokin commented.
