Segezha Group will purchase two splicing lines for the production of wood structural beams and wall beams at Sokolsky DOK
Segezha Group (part of AFK “Sistema”) will acquire two lines of splicing production of the Austrian-Slovenian company Ledinek to increase the production capacity of the Sokolsky woodworking plant in the Vologda region.
The contract for the purchase of new equipment was signed by Segezha Group and Ledinek at the end of 2018. The amount of the commercial transaction is not disclosed, but according to experts, equipment of this level can cost from €4 million to €6 million.
The line (Eurozink H12-300) will be designed for the production of wall beams. The equipment of another line (Kontizink L-S120) for the production of structural beams will increase the capacity of the plant for the production of finished glued products by 20%-25% – up to 100,000 cubic meters. It will also have the possibility of producing a beam modification of GL 32 with higher structural strength.
In addition to the two splicing lines, the plant will have IIDA Kogio – a zone for testing the strength of wood splices. Experts call this element of production as “the Japanese program”. It is necessary to carry out an additional test of the strength of the slats glued to the spike in order to be able to supply finished products to the “land of the rising sun».
Thanks to the new equipment, which will reach its full capacity in Q2 2020, the plant will be able to supply glued products not only to the traditional sales markets (Russian and European, including the new direction – Scandinavia), but also to the market of Southeast Asia, including Japan.
Two splice lines and a storied warehouse will be connected with each other by means of an automatic roller conveyor system, which will reduce the number of maintenance personnel, but at the same time increase the splice productivity.
