– The Ministry of economic development has decided to ban the export of wastepaper from Russia for four months, as well as to reduce the rate of import duty on coated paper down to 5% for 1.5 years. The measure was discussed back in the spring, when the pulpmills were talking about the growing shortage of wastepaper for the production of paper and cardboard.

– In Ketovsky district of the Kurgan region, a new panel mill has been launched. The cost of the project amounted to RUR 300 million, the payback period is expected to be five years.

– At the Eastern economic forum, an agreement was signed between the Chinese “Far-Eastern construction company” and the Russian BM-Sakhalin. The Chinese side will allocate RUR 7 billion for the implementation of a large timber industry project.

– In 2016, Segezha Group plans to put into operation a paper bag factory in Salsk, Rostov region. The total production at three lines will reach 200 million bags per year.

– Acting Governor of the Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko has officially opened a new sawmill complex of Lesplitinvest in Priozersk.

– A line of large-format plywood has opened at Parfinsky plywood mill. It is reported that after the recurrent problems in securing raw materials for several years, the management was able to stabilize the situation.

– Perm pulpmill group has launched its online service “Cargo exchange” to help searching for logistics solutions (bg.pcbk.perm.ru). The sales geography includes Russia, CIS and Europe. All registered companies engaged in cargo transportation are involved in the trading for every ride.
