Roslesinforg: timber harvest in Russia decreased by 12.7% based on the results of the 10 months of 2022
According to Roslesinforg, the total amount of timber harvested in Russia in January-October 2022 decreased by 12.7% YoY and totaled 149.1 million m³. It declined the most in the regions of the Northwestern and Siberian Federal Districts: by about 20% to 40.84 million m³ and 45.4 million m³ respectively. The strongest growth over the reporting period was registered in Yakutia: +463,100 m³ with the total result of 1.34 million m³.
The greatest amount of timber was harvested in the regions of Irkutsk (20.6 million m³), Krasnoyarsk (15.1 million m³), Arkhangelsk (11.34 million m³), and Vologda (10.9 million m³), as well as in the Komi Republic (7.3 million m³). Each of these regions registered a decline between 7% and 20%.
WhatWood Agency forecasts the Russian timber harvests will decline by 15-20% by the end of 2022.
