Metsä Group launches upgraded paper production plant

Metsä Tissue (part of Metsä Group) has launched the expanded and modernized tissue mill in Mariestad, Sweden. The company invested €370 million in the project.

The mill’s annual capacity has increased to 145,000 tonnes with the addition of a new paper machine and three converting lines. The project strengthens local supply of Lambi, Serla, and Katrin products and reduces Scandinavia’s dependence on imports.
