Investor SWISS KRONO Group intends to invest in the construction of a modern and the country’s largest wood processing plant in the Kostroma region more than 260 million euros

According to the press service of the Governor of the Kostroma region, the plant for the production of OSB, very popular in our country and abroad due to its environmental parameters and affordable cost, plans to release the first products in 2022. The project involves the investment of more than 260 million euros, the production of more than 600 thousand cubic meters of slabs per year and 150 new jobs.

The complex is planned to be built on free land plots owned by “SWISS KRONO”. Only local construction organizations and resources will be involved in the construction of industrial buildings of the complex.

“At the moment, there is an idea of what the plant will look like. We are in the process of negotiating and receiving offers from suppliers and manufacturers of equipment. We plan to build the necessary buildings and structures by the time the equipment is received by local, regional contractors,” commented Mr. Lutz Pape, General Director of the enterprise in Sharia.

Currently, the Sharia enterprise has sufficient cutting area to provide new production with raw materials. In the summer of 2019, the company plans to bring the project to the Investment Council, as well as to order the necessary equipment, the delivery time of which is 16 months. By this time it is planned to build production sites. The head of the region stressed that the construction of infrastructure for the production complex should be respected the rights and interests of residents of Sharia.

LLC SWISS KRONO-the enterprise, largest in Russia, on the production of wood plates which occupies 30% of the Russian market of the laminated floors. 20% of products are exported. All production is made on the German equipment. LLC SWISS KRONO annually processes about 2 million cubic meters of low-grade wood and waste of sawmilling of northeast regions of the Kostroma region and the neighboring regions.
