During the New Year holidays in Russia, the Russian ruble has become stronger

As of January 09, the dollar fell below 67 rubles, and the euro fell below 77 rubles.

At the same time, the cost of oil increased during the new year holidays. If last year the price per barrel fell rapidly, in early January 2019 it rose to $58.5 per barrel.

Nevertheless, the working week for Russians began not only with good news. Unpleasant for Russian business were such events as the increase in VAT from 18% to 20%, new purchases of Central Bank currency by the Ministry of Finance, as well as geopolitical circumstances.
