Andritz had solid business development in 2Q 2020

6 August 2020 ` 18:31

The international technology group Andritz reports a largely solid business development for 2Q 2020 taking into consideration the very difficult general economic conditions. While incoming orders fell sharply YoY (-42.2% to € 1.18 billion), sales rose slightly (5.7% to € 1.66 billion). In 1H 2020, the decrease in incoming orders was 18% (€ 3.7 billion). Sales increased by 3.6% (€ 3.17 billion).

Pulp & Paper developed solidly in terms of incoming orders in 2Q 2020, but was down compared to the very high 2Q 2019. The division, however, helped to compensate for sales, as some larger orders could be realized.

The markets served by Andritz were or are still affected by the negative effects of the Corona crisis. Many investment projects and the award of contracts were slowed down on the customer side or postponed until further notice.
