The operation “Timber truck”: Forest inspectors of the Republic of Khakassia, together with employees of law enforcement agencies patrolling the route

According to the Ministry of natural resources and ecology of the Republic of Khakassia, employees stop the machine with timber. At drivers check the documents confirming the fact of a legal origin of the wood. Documents should be issued in accordance with the forest legislation. Violators face administrative responsibility.

In the coming year, operation Lesovoz is being carried out for the first time. But traditionally in the Republic of Khakassia for several years, this operation is organized on a quarterly basis.

“Last year, in the course of this operation it was revealed 11 violations. The operation “Timber” is not the only form of interagency cooperation to curb the illegal timber trade. Mobile groups conduct raids not only on the roads but also in forests. And their number is increasing every year. In 2019, more than 300 patrols have already been conducted in the forest. There were 16 illegal logging with a total volume of 300 cubic meters. The damage to the forest Fund amounted to about 3 million rubles, ” – said the state forest inspector of the Ministry of natural resources of Khakassia Andrei Smirnov.

Forest supervisors are on guard with the traffic police on the roads Beisky, Ust-Abakan, Askiz, and Tashtypsky areas-where the main reserves of the forest Fund of the Republic.
