– The Russian market of laminate flooring in 2016 will remain on the last year’s level. According to the experts of Kastamonu, the total consumption of laminate flooring in 2016 will be about 80 million m2. “The stagnation in the market of laminate flooring in Russia today is due to the general economic situation and the drop in demand,” said the head of Kastamonu’s flooring sales department Vladimir Krivtsov.
– Kronostar LLC mill in Sharya, Kostroma region, will conduct reconstruction and modernization of the chipboard line. The investments will amount to 3.7 billion roubles. This will allow to increase total production to 1.25 million m3 per year. Thanks to the implementation of the investment project, the volume of low-grade wood and woodwaste processing will grow.
– Timber holding Segezha Group may build a new pulp and paper mill in the Krasnoyarsk region, Vedomosti paper reported. This was disclosed in an interview to Russia 24 TV channel by the president of AFK Sistema holding Mikhail Shamolin. The parameters of the project are not announced by the time, but Shamolin noted that in the next three years Segezha Group will allocate RUB 40 billion into an investment programme.
– In 2015, Volga PPM (Balakhna, Nizhny Novgorod region) exported 220,000 tonnes of newsprint, representing 67.6% of the total production.
– Valmet Corporation (Sweden) has embarked on a project worth €10 million to modernize the recaustization unit at the recaustization & lime reburning department of Arkhangelsk PPM.
– Ilim Group has become the main owner of Gofra Dmitrov LLC, a modern plant making corrugated products in the Moscow region with a capacity of 150 million m2. Thus, the company doubled the production in this segment.
