The Russian Government extended the increased rates of customs duties applied to exports of raw sawn timber until the end of 2025

According to Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 2484 dated December 28, 2022, increased rates of customs duties on the export of roughly processed timber were extended until the end of 2025.

The increased rates of export customs duties apply to sawn softwood and fine hardwood (oak, beech, ash) with a moisture content of more than 22%, a thickness and width of more than 10 cm.

The rate for sawn softwood is set at 10% but not less than €13 per m³. The rate for oak is 10% but not less than €15 per m³. That for beech and ash wood is 10% but not less than €50 per m³. The export duties for beams are as follows: softwood beams: €200 per m³, beech beams: €250, ash beams: €300, oak beams: €370.
