The Government of the Russian Federation endorsed new rates of customs duties for exporting certain types of timber

2 December 2021 ` 12:43

From January 2 to December 31, 2022, higher export rates will be applied to certain types of timber with moisture content over 22% and thickness and width over 10 cm. For instance, export duties for softwood are established at the rate of 200 €/m³; for fine hardwood (oak, beech, ash), from 250 to 370 €/m³. Higher duties will make it possible to limit the export of unprocessed wood as sawn timber.

The current rate for such timber is 10% for softwood and oak, but no lower than 13 and 15 €/m³ respectively; for beech and ash, also 10%, but no lower than 50 €/m³.
