VLP Group purchased all assets of Metsä Group in the Leningrad Region
Vologodskiye Lesopromyshlenniki Group confirmed purchasing a 100% share of Russian assets previously owned by Metsä Group (Finland). The government commission and the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service of Russia approved the deal.
The leasehold, harvesting operations, and a sawmill are located in the Podporozhsky District, Leningrad Region.
According to VLP Group’s press office, this purchase will enhance its positions in international markets, make it possible to increase the production of high-quality dried sawn timber to 900,000 m³ per year, and grow the raw material supply area by 500,000 m³ of AAC per year.
According to WhatWood’s data, the former sawmilling asset by Metsä Group (Metsä Svir) in the Leningrad Region has a production capacity of 300,000 m³ of sawn timber per year.
