VLP Group may purchase Metsä’s timber assets in Russia

Novy Prospect reports that negotiations are ongoing with several potential buyers of enterprises that used to be part of Metsä Group (Finland), referencing the Natural Resources Committee of the Leningrad Region. This information was confirmed by Oleg Malashchenko, Vice Chair of the Government of the Leningrad Region.

According to Novy Prospect, VLP Group is interested in purchasing all Metsä’s legal entities in Russia. These include Metsä Forest Saint Petersburg LLC and Metsä Board Rus LLC, as well as Metsä Forest Podporozhye (a timber harvesting enterprise) and Metsä Svir LLC (sawn timber production) in the Podporozhsky District.
