The Governor of the Vologda region and the President of Segezha Group discussed the prospects of construction of CLT-plant in Sokol
By 2020, Segezha Group will create a new enterprise for the production of CLT panels in the Sokolsky district of the Vologda region. The prospects of launching a new production of exclusive construction material for wooden housing construction on the basis of the Sokolsky woodworking plant on December 05 were discussed at a working meeting between the Governor of the Vologda region Oleg Kuvshinnikov and the President of the Segezha Group Mikhail Shamolin. The negotiations were held within the framework of the business program of the XXIII international forest forum and exhibition “Russian forest” in Vologda.
The principal decision on the construction of a modern enterprise for the production of CLT panels in the region was made in may this year at the St. Petersburg international economic forum. In July, the project was considered by the investment Council under the Governor and recommended for inclusion in the list of priorities in the field of forest development. It is planned that the total investment in the project will be 1 billion 700 million rubles.
President, Chairman of the Board of Segezha Group Mikhail Shamolin noted during the meeting that the company plans to launch a new production in 2020 and will gradually increase its capacity. “A significant part of the products will be exported, so I am sure that the Vologda region will be recognized in Europe as a leading manufacturer of the world level. We intend to build a pilot block of wooden houses after the launch of production in Vologda,” Mikhail Shamolin said.
To embed the new plant has a corresponding area, and for the uninterrupted supply of raw materials to the region picked up the cost reasonable allowable cut. After reaching the designed capacity, the new plant will be able to produce more than 35 thousand cubic meters of CLT panels annually. The company plans to create about 60 new jobs, the budgetary effect of the project is estimated at 423 million rubles, 274 of which will receive the regional budget.
“The implementation of this ambitious project will allow to start large – scale construction of wooden individual and apartment houses, as well as social facilities,” Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov said at the meeting. According to him, after the launch of the enterprise at full capacity, the Vologda region can become one of the world leaders in the production of house sets, as well as significantly increase the level of deep processing of wood.”
