Segezha Group acquired a set of equipment for a new CLT plant in the Vologda region

New asset Segezha Group – Sokol CLT LLC – is scheduled to place at the site of the Sokolsky woodworking plant. The capacity of the plant “Sokol CLT” will be 35 thousand m3 of finished products per year when working in two shifts.

The supplier of a complete set (more than 90 positions) is purchased from the Austrian company Ledinek. Installation of the equipment will begin in May 2020.

According to the President of Segezha Group Michael Shamolin, “the beginning will supply the CLT-panels abroad, where regulations allow their use as structural elements in multistory buildings, however, the ultimate goal is to begin to use CLT in Russia”.

The first test panel will be produced in December 2020, and the market will be released in early 2021.

Prior to the arrival of the equipment at the site, Sokol CLT will carry out major repairs of the building in which the production will be located. The reconstruction plan is ready, according to which the shop will be expanded by 3 thousand m2 and the total area of the building will exceed 10 thousand m2.
