Technonicol closed the deal on purchasing SWOODS Export, a subsidiary of VMG Group (Lithuania) in Borisov (Minsk Region), as reported by the corporation’s press office. The company is considering the possibility of implementing technologies for production of planed moldings, glued timber kits, and house kits at the plant. The estimated investment in the venue development exceeds €20 million. The plant in Borisov became the fifth timber industry asset in the company’s portfolio. Technonicol had previously purchased four timber enterprises in the Krasnoyarsk, Nizhny Novgorod, and Sverdlovsk Regions.

The new asset includes a 30,000 m³ raw timber material warehouse, a sawmilling shop with a capacity of 600,000 m³ of processed timber, 38 drying kilns, a dry sawn timber sorting and packaging line, a wood pellet production shop that can make up to 120,000 t of wood pellets, and a moldings production site making up to 24,000 m³ of finished products per year. The company was previously making products for the furniture industry too. Besides ready-made furniture, its product range included finger-jointed timber, glued planks, and components for furniture production. After the change of ownership, the plant will focus on making products for the construction industry.

The company is supposed to ship its finished products to all regions of Belarus. There are plans to export to Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, China, and South Korea in the future. Technonicol is planning to consider the possibility of shipments to India and South East Asia countries if the logistics costs reduce.
