Sveza acquired new assets in the cardboard and paper industry

17 February 2025 ` 20:31

Sveza announced the purchase of assets from MMPOF—a group in the Northwestern Federal District that produces cardboard packaging and special-purpose paper. This was reported in the timber group’s press release. The Federal Anti-Monopoly Service of Russia approved the transaction whose terms and structure are not disclosed.

The new assets include three industrial sites in the Leningrad (MMPOF Packaging and MMPOF Rotogravure) and Pskov (Nevskiye Grani) Regions. The first company specializes in making cardboard packaging for foods, personal hygiene products, and other FMCGs; the second, in cardboard packaging for tobacco products; while the third produces tipping paper for cigarette filters.

In December 2022, Mayr-Melnhof (MM) Group (Austria) sold its packaging assets in Saint Petersburg and Pskov to Granel Group for €134 million upon approval from the Russian public authorities. MM’s Russian business previously included MM Poligrafoformleniye Packaging, MM Poligraphoformleniye Rotogravure, and Tann Nevsky.
