Stroy Investresurs LLC plans to build a bleached CTMP mill in Karelia

10 June 2014 ` 02:58

Stroy Investresurs LLC will build an enterprise for the production of bleached chemical thermomechanical market pulp (CTMP) in Karelia. The total cost of the project will reach €125 million.

According to the information of the investor, CTMP is an alternative to traditional bleached pulp for the production of paper and cardboard, a mass produced from hardwoods, mostly aspen. The new production will be more environmentally friendly than traditional mills and will not require the use of large amounts of chemicals, says the company.

The construction of the mill is planned in the industrial area of Tomitsy, near Petrozavodsk. The city administration will hold an auction for the sale of lease rights for the land plot, consider the possibility of using poplar as raw material for the project and explore options for the location of discharge of industrial effluent.
