Segezha Group upgrades its logging trucks in Krasnoyarsk Region
Segezha Group (a Sistema JSFC company) is completing another investment project to upgrade its timber hauling fleet. The logging branches of Lesosibirsk LDK No. 1 falling within the Angarsky group are preparing to receive 10 tractor trucks and semi-trailers with a 6×6 wheel arrangement in the next few days. The vehicles are supplied as part of the investment project Acquisition of Timber Trucks with Semi-trailers, investment in which amounts to about RUB 140 million.
Through this project, Lesosibirsk LDK No. 1 is planning to increase the share of the transportation of lumber without subcontracting from the upper depots to the lower depots up to 30% and to decrease the share of contract hauling down to 70%. As of 2020, the share of sawn log hauling from the upper depot to the lower depot without subcontracting was 16% of the total volume of sawn logs felled by the Angarsky Group of branches.
In 2021, a separate investment project was launched at Lesosibirsk LDK No. 1 to renew its fleet of utility vehicles. As part of the project, worn-out equipment will be replaced on-site at the mill site. The investment involved will amount to RUB 74 million.
In 2020, as part of the investment programme to renew the logging and hauling fleet, Segezha Group acquired more than 250 units of special vehicles and auxiliary equipment for key logging assets located in the Republic of Karelia, Vologda and Arkhangelsk Regions, as well as in Krasnoyarsk Territory. The total purchase amounted to over RUB 2 billion. With more advanced machinery, the company seeks to step up its logging efficiency, increase employee safety, raise the quality of harvested raw materials and protect the environment by observing principles of responsible forest management.
