– Valmet will deliver a biomass-fired boiler plant and related automation and environmental systems to Segezha pulpmill in the Republic of Karelia, Russia. Equipment delivery is scheduled for 2017.

– The head of Buryatia Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn has recently signed seven agreements with the investors, two of which are connected with wood processing. East-Baikal Forest Company LLC will build logging and further processing capacities in Zaigraevsky area. The project implementation period is five years, the total investment scope is estimated at 2.5 billion rubles. The company will produce logs, profiled timber, laminated timber, mouldings, OSB panels, and pellets. IT-Almak-Baikal LLC is going to carry out a project worth 750 million rubles within five years in Selenga area.

– The Ministry of industry and trade of the Russian Federation included the woodworking project of Lestekh LLC in the federal list of priority projects. It is located in Verkhnyaya Sinyachikha (Alapaevsky area, Sverdlovsk region).

– In 2017, annual allowed cut volume in Belarus will increase by 3% to 11.93 million m3 of commercial wood. The increase will be due to natural growth of forests and reaching of felling age.

– On 28 June, 2016, the third phase of priority investment project of Belozerskles enterprise was launched (part of Cherepovetsles holding). It includes construction of a new 100,000 m3 sawmill, which will also have a pellet plant installed.

– In 2017, Plitspichprom company (Kaluga region) will launch a new Siempelkamp plant for the production of chipboard, which will be the final phase of the reconstruction. This will allow to widen the assortment of panels and start production of laminated chipboard.
