Russian timber industry development strategy & practical guide: Monograph by Dr. Sukhanov published in Germany
In February 2014, Palmarium Academic Publishing (Germany) published the monograph “Strategy and tactics of timber industry development in Russia” by Doctor V. Sukhanov. The book is designed for timber merchants, professionals, businessmen, investors, engineers, scientists, and teachers of forestry universities and colleges.
It is a practical guide to improving the effectiveness of existing enterprises and establishing new ones. The monograph examines the main challenges of modern timber industry complex that hamper its development, and the ways of their elimination.
The proposals are aimed at improving the efficiency of timber industry enterprises by lowering the cost of wood raw material and energy. This can be possible through upgrading the logging industry and timber stock exchanges and development of energy use of wood.
In the absence of competitive forestry machines, woodworking and pulp and paper equipment, low cost of wood raw material and energy is the only Russia’s economically available potential competitive advantage for successful development of timber industry. The obligatory condition of this task is the restoration of forest science, forestry machinery engineering and forest management system.
