The Government of the Russian Federation adopted a decree that stipulates government support for transporting timber industry products via sea ports located in the Northwestern Federal District.

Under the decree, timber exporters will be able to reimburse up to 80% of their product transportation costs (up to 50% of the shipped product cost over the shipment planning period) in 2023–2024 if they ship it via sea ports within the Northwestern Federal District.

The decree stipulates the following shipping periods that qualify for government support: in 2023, support is provided for shipments made from July 1 2023 to September 30, 2023 (except for EAEU HS Codes 94). In 2024, support is provided for shipments made from October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024 (except for EAEU HS Codes 94).

Support will be granted to companies in 2023–2024 based on the results of the competition held in 2023.
