Rosleskhoz: 14 investment projects on timber industry development were approved in 2024
In 2024, the Federal Forestry Agency (Rosleskhoz) approved 14 investment projects on timber industry development, as reported by its press office. The Agency is planning to provide forest areas with an annual timber harvest of about 15.1 million m³ for their implementation. These investment projects are aimed at creating new timber processing facilities and upgrading the operating ones.
The Northwestern and Siberian Federal Districts were the top federal districts by the number of priority investment projects on timber industry development. 15 out of 26 projects, respectively, are being implemented there, with 52 and 22 projects already completed.
Since September 1, 2023, Rosleskhoz has been providing forest areas for investment projects and conducting state expert review of Forest Land Use Plans within such projects. In 2024, the Agency issued 427 positive opinions on Forest Land Use Plans that passed the state expert review. Decisions were made to lease out 56 forest areas for priority investment projects implementation.
