In H1 2024, the volume of retail furniture sales in Russia rose by 10% YoY, up to almost 250 billion rubles, as reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta (“Russian Newspaper”) referencing the Association of Furniture and Woodworking Enterprises of Russia.

The greatest year-on-year growth occurred in the Northwestern (+21%, up to 24.5 billion rubles), North Caucasian (+18%, up to 9.4 billion rubles), and Siberian (+15%, up to 22.2 billion rubles) Federal Districts. At the same time, the sales in the Central Federal District, which accounts for over a third of the total retail furniture sales in Russia, grew by only 4% YoY, up to 89.8 billion rubles.

Moscow is the leading Russian region by retail sales volume: more furniture was sold there than in any other district except the Central Federal District. Just behind it are the Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Sverdlovsk, Rostov, and Krasnodar Regions. The top 10 also includes the Tyumen, Novosibirsk, and Stavropol Regions, as well as Tatarstan. Furniture prices rose by 8.7% from August 2023 through August 2024.
