OSB maker Novovyatsky ski mill sold to German company Sudheimer

8 November 2013 ` 02:53

The German company specialized in production of automobile oils Sudheimer Car Technik Vertriebs became the new owner of Novovyatsky ski mill, reports Kirov web portal Newsler.

Rumours about possible change of shareholders circulated at the end of July. The mill has changed its General Director, and the experts evaluated the asset in RUR 250-500 million.

On September 24, 99.99% of the shares of the mill, previously controlled by businessman Albert Laritsky and his Dutch company “XXI Century Technologies B.V.”, passed into the possession of Sudheimer Car Technik Vertriebs GmbH.

It is owned by a USSR native Yuri Sudheimer, who in 1993 created a sales company for lubricating materials and spare parts for cars. Today, this company owns production facilities in several countries, however, according to the open data, Sudheimer had never previously shown any interest in the timber industry.

Novovyatsky ski mill is one of the first Russian enterprises which started production of OSB, though it is still in test mode. Rated capacity of the mill is 100,000 m3 of OSB per year. The company is going to produce 1850x2500x9 mm panels.

As noted in the study by WhatWood, “OSB market in Russia in 2010 – January-July 2013”, start-ups of first small OSB mills in Russia have not yet led to any significant changes on the market. Perhaps this will happen with DOK Kalevala in Karelia reaching the rated capacity.
