4 September 2013 ` 02:25

Astrakhan board and packaging mill (belongs to United Paper Mills (OBF) completed a large-scale upgrade of its corrugator. As the managing director of the company Sergey Shevelyov said, the modernization has increased the speed of the unit from 90 to 120 m/min, further increase of up to 150 m/min is scheduled. In addition, this allowed to increase profitability, which is critical, according to Shevelyov: under highly competitive market of corrugated packaging in the Southern federal district the company does not have the ability to raise prices.

“The upgrade will allow us to start five-layer BE cardboard production – one of the most popular assortments on the market, as it stands well dynamic loads during transportation and stacking. Our area – Astrakhan, Volgograd, Rostov and Krasnodar regions – is a fertile land, an area of developed agriculture. I have had talks with several major agricultural producers, they all expressed interest in our products,” Shevelyov concluded.
