Luke: Finland increased forest industry products exports by 10% in January-February 2021

The exports value of forest industry products totalled € 0.89 billion in February 2021. In January-February 2021 the exports value totalled in real terms € 1.73 billion and increased from same period previous year by a tenth (deflated using wholesale price index). Industrial actions in 2020 decreased production and exports of forest industries in the beginning of previous year.

In the same time the exports value of wood-products industries increased by 35% in real terms. The exports value of sawn goods increased by 41% and volume 22%. For plywood both the exports value and volume increased by 69%.

In January-February 2021, the exports value of pulp and paper industries increased by 3% in real terms compared to the same period previous year. In the same time the exports value of bleached sulphate pulp increased by 10% and volume 13%. The exports value of magazine paper increased by 4% and volume 17%. For fine paper on the other hand the exports value decreased by 17% and volume decreased 13%. The exports value of paperboard increased by 8% and volume 12%.
